Mr. Sakthivel Venkataraman, Chairman of RSOI, is a commercially astute senior professional with over 25 years of cross-functional experience in Corporate and Legal Affairs, Governance and Compliance, and Technology. Known for his leadership in client relationship management and service excellence, Shakti has successfully driven operational improvements for multinational corporations. His expertise spans AML investigations, vendor administration, training process optimization, and business intelligence. A self-starter with strong people skills, he has led numerous projects that enhanced legal function efficiency and contributed to bottom-line growth across multiple industries.


Mrs. Padma Venkataraman

Board Member of RSOI

is a distinguished humanitarian and social advocate, deeply committed to the service of marginalized communities. As the daughter of former President of India, R. Venkataraman, and having met Mahatma Gandhi in her youth, Padma was inspired early on by the ideals of justice, equality, and compassionate service. She is a founding member of the Women’s India Association, a pioneering organization dedicated to the empowerment of women across India.
During her time in Vienna, Austria, she served as the permanent representative of the All-India Women’s Conference to the United Nations, championing gender equality and human rights on an international stage. In recognition of her tireless efforts, especially on behalf of individuals and families affected by leprosy, Padma was honoured by the International Leprosy Conference in 2008. Her lifelong dedication to humanitarian causes continues to inspire and uplift countless lives.

Dr. V. Seetha

Medical Director and a Board Member

A distinguished paediatrician with a deep commitment to neonatology, nutrition, child development, and social paediatrics’, she retired as a professor from the Government Madras Medical College, where she taught generations of medical students and healthcare professionals.
Dr. Seetha has made significant contributions to public health through her role as Regional Coordinator for UNICEF, where she was instrumental in establishing and mentoring Special Care Newborn Units across South India—efforts that led to a notable reduction in infant mortality rates. She also serves as one of the national trainers for the Prime Minister’s RBSK (Rastriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram), a flagship initiative aimed at disability prevention and early intervention.
At Rising Star Outreach of India, Dr. Seetha brings her expertise to support individuals affected by leprosy, guiding the medical team and advocating for holistic health care. She also serves on the school board, promoting students’ physical, mental, and emotional well-being. She co-directs an early intervention canter that assists children with developmental and communication challenges, providing them with necessary care and opportunities.

Dr. Mirasu David

Dr Mr Mirasu David serves as a distinguished member of the Board of Directors at Rising Star Outreach of India where he provides strategic guidance and oversight to advance the organization's mission and long-term objectives and as chairman, Perry Matriculation Hr, Sec. School, Kanchipuram District, Nominated Member of Tamil Nadu School Curriculum Frame Work Development Committee 2012. With a robust background in Education, Dr, David brings 45 years of experience in Higher Education, strategic planning.
In her role, Dr Mirasu is instrumental in shaping policy, overseeing major initiatives, and fostering key stakeholder relationships. His extensive experience includes serving Nominated Member of Tamil Nadu School Curriculum Frame Work Development Committee 2012, He was the Chair Person for the Tamil Nadu Government Text Book Committee for Matriculation Physics for Std. X, Academic Advisor, ECI group of schools, Chennai. Where he drove significant growth and operational improvements.
Dr Mirasu holds a M.Sc. in Physics, M.Ed from Annamalai University and has completed Ph.D.(Education) from University of Madras and M.Th. from University of Jerusalem. He is recognized for a strategic mind-set and a commitment to fostering innovation and sustainability in the field of Education.

With a robust background in Education, Dr, Jebaraj brings 36 years of experience in Higher Education, strategic planning.
In her role, Dr Jebaraj is instrumental in shaping policy, overseeing major initiatives, and fostering key stakeholder relationships"]. Her extensive experience includes serving as an Life member of AIAER, AMTL, AIACHE as Professional Affiliations, where she drove significant growth and operational improvements.
Dr Jebaraj holds a M.Sc. in Math and has completed Ph.D.(Education) She is recognized for a strategic mind-set and a commitment to fostering innovation and sustainability in the field of Education.

Ms.Ponni M Concessao

Architect Ms.Ponni M Concessao was born in Chennai and is an alumni of the illustrious Presentation Convent Church Park School in Chennai, where she excelled in academics and won national awards in art.
A pioneer in women's’ technical education, Ponni Concessao was the first women undergraduate student of the prestigious National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, University of Madras, and graduated in June 1987 – a premier engineering institution in India. She graduated in the top2% of her class, winning design competitions, performing social service at the village level and holding leadership positions. She won the Distinguished Alumni Award from the National Institute of Technology for the Golden Jubilee Celebrations and received the Honor from His Excellency the President of India Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam.
She got her Master's Degree from Cornell University, USA and later received her advanced professional studies specialization at Harvard University USA and was conferred with Honorary Doctorates from the University of Malaysia and Universita of Milano for Modern Architecture. Following her nation-building dreams she moved back to India in 1996 and along with her husband and founded Oscar & Ponni Architects in Chennai. Ponni M Concessao Architects have won 192 National, State and International awards for Architecture & Interior Design. Architect Dr. Ponni M. Concessao is the first woman architect in Asia to design a State Secretariat in India, Telangana State, Hyderabad. Dr. Ponni has worked on the Prime Minister's Housing for All projects and the prestigious Gaganyaan Space Center for ISRO at Sriharikota. Architect Dr. Ponni's award winning work has covered all large prototypes of town planning, buildings and interiors in all parts of India. Her contributions include creating award winning designs, authoring and publishing technical papers, board member of several institutions, architectural education, conservation, women's’ rights and nation building

Dr Mr S Anandan holds a M.D.Dermatoogy & STD, MBBS & DD from Madras University and  He is recognized for a strategic mind-set and a commitment to fostering innovation and Delivery of multidrug therapy in Leprosy through Mini Health Centres (NLEP).
He is passionate about Teaching, educational opportunities and supporting community development initiatives in Immunosuppressive Drugs in Dermatology.

Ms. Christine Cronquist

Chairman

Christine Cronquist has been a dedicated volunteer with Rising Star Outreach since its earliest days. She initially led the organization’s Volunteer Program, drawing from her extensive experience as a returning volunteer herself. Christine’s commitment to service has extended to her family, with her children also volunteering—two of her daughters even becoming volunteer leaders. In recent years, she has taken on greater leadership roles, serving on the Executive Committee and currently as Chairman of the Board of Directors

Ms. Rebecca Douglas

Becky Douglas is an experienced nonprofit executive and the founder of Rising Star Outreach. With a strong background in nonprofit management, program evaluation, and entrepreneurship, she has led impactful humanitarian initiatives in underserved communities. Becky’s work has been featured in major media outlets and documentaries, including Breaking the Curse on PBS. She is a recipient of the John Houston Allen Humanitarian of the Year Award and was named one of Traditional Homes Magazine’s “Classic Women.” A skilled motivational speaker and columnist for Meridian Magazine, Becky brings deep expertise in nonprofit leadership, event management, and public outreach.

Experienced in operations and management, Brett strives to always bring a fun, collaborative, and data-driven approach to the workplace. His meaningful experience volunteering in India with Rising Star Outreach back when he was a young student at the University of Utah left an impact on Brett and eventually led him to join our organization full time in 2019. He has an MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management, a top-ranked school of international business, and is continually seeking to learn through good books and classes.

Proactively took Volunteer Retirement to pursue passion for philanthropy, currently supporting Rising Star Outreach of India to establish a campus and school for underprivileged children affected by Leprosy in Bihar.
